HEZRON AND SHAGGY GO TWO PLACES

“The video for two places will premier on Intense this Saturday...”

Fast rising reggae crooner Hezron and international superstar have shot the video for their hit Two Places. The song places on the riddim of the same name were produced by Danny Champaign of Champaign Records and have been doing well on the airwaves.

It was Danny Champaign who was instrumental in bringing Hezron and Shaggy together to record the song. Danny Champaign says he is confident that the song is a hit and the video will only make it better: “I think the video took a while but is a fairly good video. It tells the story that was designed for it and the final product is of a good quality”.

Champaign also reveals he is happy with the response the song has been getting based on radio play. “We are happy with the song and it has been playing well on the radio continuously and that pushed us to do the video. I show some people the video and they loved it and as far as I am concerned the song is already a hit and the video will only make it better”.

The veteran producer is also happy with the synergy between Shaggy who he says is a super star and Hezron who he believes is fast approaching superstardom: “Both complement each other on the song. The contrast between Hezron; a reggae singer and a Shaggy who is a great DJ makes the track that much better and the lyrics is something that people live everyday so they will identify with it.

Hezron who has been busy promoting his to other current singles; Forever and Always and She’s all Woman says he is happy with the way the video turned out and enjoyed the collaboration between him and shaggy: “It was a good storyline and I like the way it was shot. The song has been doing really well and I believe the video can only help it to go further”

WORRELL KING BETS ON POSITIVE DANCEHALL

Western Consciousness 2011, the one night event which seeks to keep positive music prominent in the business...

In what some may see as going against the tide of popular sentiments, head honcho of King of Kings Promotions Worrell King has decided to place a bet on positive dancehall for Western Consciousness 2011. The calendar event which will be held at Paradise Park, Smithfield Road in Westmoreland on April 30 is expected to be one to watch as several of Jamaica’s top dancehall artistes are billed to perform.

According to King, his effort to highlight positive dancehall should come as no surprise as Western Consciousness which is in its twenty-third year has always embraced dancehall, but with a positive focus: “We were the ones who brought Ras Moses to the conscious stage and even before that we brought Pinchers to the stage. These are some of what some people would consider hardcore artistes, but what some ignore is the fact that these artistes have a tremendous catalogue of what we would describe as positive music”

The veteran show promoter says that over the years the show has not gotten the support from corporate Jamaica but he continues to fulfil his dream of bringing conscious music to the market. “My shoulders have been bearing this show for decades but I know that my work is not in vain as people the world over look to Western Consciousness as a beacon of hope in the industry”

This year the show features a slew of reggae and dancehall artistes. Headlining the event will be Tanya Stephens, Rodney Price, Ras Moses, Stevie Face, I-Octane, Romain Virgo, Hezron, Lutan Fyah, Hero, Freddie McGregor, Dubtonic Kru and several others. As with all Western Consciousness staging, the emphasis will be placed on conscious music and no variation from that norm will be tolerated.

Western Consciousness 2011, the one night event which is a celebration of good over evil seeks to keep positive music prominent in the business. The show will take place on April 30 at Paradise Park in Westmoreland.
