April 2, 2011, Kingston Jamaica:-Veteran sound system Rebel T will be at River Sundays for its first anniversary this Sunday May 1 at Grossman River in Braes River St Elizabeth.  Initially dubbed Heineken River Sundays the free show has new sponsors in the form of Rum Bar Rum, BOJ TV, Super K Studios and River Rock CafĂ© coupled with a new vibe and additional attractions for patrons

Founded in the early 90s, Rebel T may be more known for winning the Guinness Sound of Greatness competition in 2008 but has toured the world spreading dancehall music in North America, The Caribbean and Europe. Mad Ras who will man the ones and threes this Sunday, started in the sound business in the City Rock camp in the early 90's as a box boy and worked his way up the ranks settling in as an MC until he joined the Rebel T team in 03. His explosive eccentricity has pleased fans throughout the world. As MC and Hype man, his Mad Ras’ vibe has become a visible trademark for fans from LA to the Bahamas.

A free show put on by Danger Zone Music Group and Nuwave Entertainment, the first instalment of River Sundays was held on Easter Sunday 2011 and almost 3000 patrons came out to witness a special performance by Jah Cure. Over the past year, the show has also seen the likes of Miss Kitty, Ce’Cile, DJ Sunshine, Kahgo, Fanton Mojah, Angele Smith and many more artistes performing for the St Elizabeth patrons.

Not only did the show host a slew of performing artistes over the past year but there were also a number of top flight disk jocks who spun their mixes on the River Sundays stage. The likes of Ricky Trooper, Jigsy, Colin Hines, Razz N Biggy, ZJ Ice and Coppershot were just some of the sound systems and selectors who made the trip to St Elizabeth.

Ronny White of Nuwave Entertainment believes the event is a hit: “This event is one that people in St Elizabeth look forward to every month, over the past year we have grown from strength to strength and not only provide entertainment but also a source of income for many persons who come to the event and sell their products. The people have supported us over the past year and we will do our best to ensure that we get their support for another year”

On May 1, 2011 River Sundays celebrates its one year anniversary with a hyper party at Grossman River in Braes River St Elizabeth. Music will be provided by Rebel T with Mad Ras, Virus Sound and Danger Zone. There will also be prizes and surprises in celebration of the one year anniversary with football and domino competitions and well as Rum Bar Rum deals all night.  Festivities start at 2 pm so patrons are advised to come out early to win numerous prizes.
