Jah Cure is really popular all over Europe and we thought the year should not end without his fans on that side of the world having a chance to see him.

The tour will see Jah Cure performing in five countries from The Netherlands in the North to Portugal in the south. Jah Cure is very excited about the tour: “It is wonderful that I can again get the chance to spread the message of love and peace throughout Europe. This year has been a good year for me and this tour is my autumn surprise for my European fans" - Danger Zone/SoBe Entertainment recording artiste Jah Cure.

The Elusive Banker of Digicel Deal or No Deal

Ambiguous, deceptive, imponderable and illusory are just a few of the terms that can be used to more accurately describe “The Elusive Banker” of the hot new TVJ series Digicel Deal or No Deal.

The Banker’s identity is intentionally withheld from the public to heighten the suspense and intrigue. He communicates with host Simon Crosskill using an array of the latest Blackberry Smartphones provided jointly by Digicel and RIM.

The man with the real control as he often refers to himself, hails from Jamaica’s most elite clique of socialites and aristocrats and often when not seen in silhouette on set, is mentioned to be quite the jet setting island hopper. And after the stresses of the weekly dealings can be seen yachting around the Caribbean or the scenic Jamaican shoreline.

But, he warns contestants not to be fooled by his affluent lifestyle and mostly cool demeanour, as he is well educated and claims heritage from the best local and international institutions and is experienced in the twists and intricacies of financial management and Wall Street like banking tactics.

He is the hard bargaining, risk taker with little or no tolerance for players who have the nerve to think that they can outplay him and is easily angered by the brave yet foolish contestants who refuse his rarely generous offers to purchase their cases throughout the rounds.

Each week The Banker reveals a little more of his prowess and pushes contestants to their limits at times causing them to buckle under the pressure, or scoffs at their minimal gains when they refuse his offers. The Banker is the drama, the suspense and a hero all in one, even if only to him, and with an unmatched energy that exudes an unmistakable confidence, purports that he is the one true winner at all times.

In a personal chat, The Banker mentions how much he enjoys the hopeful expectations of his weekly contestants but is never denied a laugh or is disappointed with their shaky nerves and lack of skill and intuition. “So you think you can outplay The Banker, unlikely now, unlikely ever” he says with an audible smile.

As the show progresses he will welcome Jamaica into his world and provide tips and pointers to the upcoming contestants in his weekly column The Banker’s Deal. But until then The Banker encourages viewers to tune in to the upcoming episodes only on TVJ Wednesday at 8pm, Thursdays at 11:30pm and Mondays at 12pm. Watch the twists and turns as The Banker teaches players that it is better to take his Deals than go home with No Deal.

IKAYA DROPS STRONG WORDS

Ikaya, the newest dancehall prospect on the scene, has just released a brand new track called Clean-Up.

While the lyrics of the song are tongue in cheek the targets are un-mistakable and has deftly connected. Ikaya, who is by no means afraid of starting a lyrical confrontation with any artiste, male or female, says, "The song is not really, aimed at anyone one in particular, it's just an answer to some doubters who have been whispering. It's a warning to anyone who decides to step up as my lyrics are caustic and will burn anything that comes too close."

Clean-Up, which was produced by Skatta for Out-A-Road Records, is already burning up the airwaves. The song prods several female artistes including Macka Diamond and Spice, as a line in the song says: "Mi just saw dem off like Macka caw dem naah no Spice ... . D'Angel: dem get kick outa heaven cause dem ain't no angel... ."

Skatta Burrell thinks that with Ikaya he has found the gem that dancehall has been searching for. "When I heard the lyrics for the song, I thought the rhythm was the perfect fit and that the song would be a big hit for Ikaya. It's not often that you find a female deejay that can sing, deejay and feel comfortable doing both; blending wit, humour and hardcore lyrics in one. Any deejay who plans to answer Ikaya should be warned that she already has the lyrics ready for whatever and also has several other tunes in her arsenal that can only be released in a lyrical war. She is ready!"

Clean-Up takes no prisoners and on a tight punchy track is reminiscent of the old dancehall days when witty metaphors ruled the 'ones and threes' and music did not have to be overtly slack to send its message. Following in the footsteps of her idol, 'Mumma Saw', Ikaya has definitely hit the ground running as she seeks to Clean-Up the music.

In what was a team effort, sponsors of the newest local TV show, Digicel Deal or No Deal have gone all out to ensure that the show delivers on its promise to provide quality family entertainment to Jamaican viewers. In order for Digicel Deal or No Deal to be possible, members of corporate Jamaica each sponsored a few of the 26 cases used on the show. Title sponsors Digicel, believes that Digicel Deal or No Deal is in line with the company’s goal to continue to excite the market, while at the same time delivering great value. RIM Blackberry, the world’s leading smart phone provider s has also helped to present Digicel Deal or No Deal. The infamous banker on Digicel Deal or No Deal has the distinction of only using Digicel Blackberry Smart Phones.

And not one to shy away from a great opportunity, Appliance Traders Limited (ATL) believes that the show fits perfectly with what they represent. Not only will the company’s industrial and consumer products be prizes on the show, but they also have big ticket prizes up for grabs including a Panasonic Inverter Air Conditioner, a Prizm Generator, two 42” Plasma TVs, a Sony Play Station 2 (PS2) and a Samsung side by side refrigerator with a total value of over one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) along with a number of ATL branded items.

HOW TO PLAY DIGICEL DEAL OR NO DEAL

Are you calm, cool and collected with a natural intuition and just a spark of luck, if so answer this: Deal or No Deal?

Finally the adrenaline filled,

surprise packed game show hit Jamaica on Wednesday September 23 at 8PM on TVJ.

So you’ve been watching at home and think you can do better than the contestants you’ve seen so far. Well can you? Do you really know what it takes to walk away with a significant amount of cash?

For those who don’t know, Digicel Deal or No Deal gives a lucky player the chance of walking away with up to $1Million … but not without a few tricks and turns. Host Simon Crosskill takes a contestant through a suspense filled journey where they must attempt to maneuver through 26 sealed cases with prize values ranging from $1 to the sought after $1Million prize. Without knowing the amount in each case, the contestant picks one – his/hers to keep. The player must eliminate the remaining 25 cases to determine what is in his/her case. However, there are a few temptations along the way which are introduced by the game’s illusive Banker who after each round tempts the contestant to sell their selected case at his price.

Throughout the game, contestants are guaranteed a greater Banker payoff once the more valuable cases are still in play after each round, but if they are unlucky and select one of the big prizes the tricky Banker will reduce his offer. The trick to successfully maneuvering through the cases is… pure luck!

Whether a Player chooses to pick cases by odd numbers, even numbers or randomly, there is no way to know which cases contain which amount. The true test of this game is to know when to stop. As explained, the more high amounts on the board, the better The Banker’s offer. So a player can feel more confident when he has more large amounts, however, once the high amounts start to disappear, the player has less to bargain with.

Digicel Deal or No Deal is about bargaining. The Banker uses a formula to make his offer using the amounts on the board to determine the player’s chances of winning big, so the player too must use his/her own strategy to determine the risks of going forward and the chances of walking away with more than the offer on the table.

Remember, the only way to walk away with the top prize of $1Million is to have it in your case at the start and then have the guts to play till the end to prove it.

So do you still think you can play better than the contestants you’ve seen so far? This fun filled game of suspense, chance and luck, is ready for you so what’s your choice: Deal or No Deal?

THE UNIVERSAL CURE UP FOR GRAMMY NOMINATION

Jah Cure’s album The Universal Cure has been submitted for a 2010 Reggae Grammy nomination. The Album is part of a list of reggae albums that will be considered for a 2010 Grammy nomination. The Universal Cure which was released on April 14 this year is Jah Cure’s fifth full-length album.

Released under the Sobe Entertainment/Danger Zone imprint and distributed by Fontana and Universal Music Group, The Universal Cure contains sixteen tracks. It features Mr. Jailer with SoBe Entertainment songstress Phyllisia and Hot Long Time featuring Flo-Rida, Mavado and Jr. Reid. Also on the album are the hits Call on Me, Sticky, Reflections and Green Grass.

The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums Chart and consolidated Jah Cure’s title an international reggae star. The Universal Cure also silenced the doubters by unleashing several hits that still maintain a presence on the charts both locally and internationally.

Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Jah Cure became involved with reggae music as a teenager and rapidly rose to fame in the late '90s. In 1997 at only 18 years old, Jah Cure released the culturally minded single King in This Jungle with Sizzla.

Over the years Cure recorded and released numerous hit records; the songs Jamaica produced by Danger Zone and Longing For produced by Don Carleon both hit number one on Jamaican and international reggae charts and signalled that Cure’s music has an addictive quality.

Jah Cure’s first album ‘Free Jah’s Cure’ was released in 2001, one year after his incarceration. In 2003, Beres Hammond produced Cure’s second album ‘Ghetto Life’, which featured the single Divide and Rule, another massive collaboration with Sizzla which was eventually voted the best song of that year. Cure recorded more songs while still incarcerated and released his third album in 2005, aptly entitled ‘Freedom Blues’.

After serving his time Cure was freed on July 28, 2007 just a week before the release of his fourth album. Since then Jah Cure’s goal has been to spread love and to promote peace and healing universally through his music.

He has continued to release hits and has completed several oversubscribed tours in the Caribbean and Europe. The artiste is also a local favourite being a constant crowd puller at events such as Reggae Sumfest.

JAH CURE’S MUSIC CONTINUES TO RISE

Jah Cure’s music continues to be timeless maintaining a constant presence on local, regional and international charts.

For the second week in a row the Sobe Entertainment/Danger Zone artiste maintains the number one spot on the New York Reggae Chart. He holds this position with the hit You’ll Never Find which is on Don Carleon’s Changes Riddim. The song is also bubbling at #6 on the South Florida Reggae Chart. You’ll Never Find is #25 on Richie B’s Weekly Music Countdown and is proving to be an appropriate follow-up to Jah Cure’s summer smash Call On Me. The video for You’ll Never Find has also been getting good reviews receiving over 14,000 hits on YouTube.

While Jah Cure’s latest hit You’ll Never Find continues to climb the charts and gain popularity throughout the world, his previous hit Call On Me featuring Phyllisia continues to maintain a presence locally on both radio and TV. The song has become so popular that it has outlasted many other hits that have come after it. Call on Me remains ever present on both the Hype TV VTX at #3 and the Hype TV Top 20 at #6 after spending sixteen weeks on the latter and sits pretty at #3 on Zip 103FM’s Kool Liquid Line-up.

You’ll Never Find is also dominant throughout the Caribbean as it is number one in both the US Virgin Islands and on TEMPO.

The collaboration with Phyllisia is not the only track that Jah Cure has had charting success with. He is also #9 on Richie B’s Weekly Music Countdown with a track called I'm Free featuring Jahranimo who also appeared with Cure on Sumfest this year. Another of the tracks to look out for is Jah Cure’s collaboration with Christopher Ellis on the track Why Can’t We on the Netzah Riddim. Ellis is the youngest son of famed singer Alton Ellis and is a credible singer himself.

Jah Cure has also been making waves in the US with the remix of Jason Mraz’s I’m Your’s featuring Lil Wayne. The track continues to garner rave reviews and has become and internet sensation while at the same time charting on several urban radio stations in Florida and New York.
